Mission and History
The Campaign for Youth was established in 2002 by the leadership of national youth serving organizations who came together to build a united voice for disadvantaged youth in this nation. The mission of the Campaign for Youth is to focus attention on the needs of young people who are out of work, out of school and out of the mainstream. The Campaign for Youth advocates for the expansion of those opportunities and supports that prepare youth for their future roles as workers, parents, civic leaders and engaged members of caring communities. Since just prior to the 2004 elections the Campaign for Youth has engaged in continuous activities aimed at elevating awareness of the dimension of the disconnected youth challenge and advancing our recommendations in multiple forums.
